"Sparkle: The Queerest Book You'll Ever Love" took me a year or so of constant writing and editing to complete. It has always been my life-long dream to be a novelist and, voila, here I am. Dreams do come true. My second novel, Lambda Literary Award nominee for Best Gay Fiction, "Divas Las Vegas", was published by Cleis Press in November of 2009. It was the 2010 TLA Gaybies Award winner for Best Gay Fiction.
So what would you like to know about me? Here's a little background information: I have a B.S. in Biology from Emory University in Atlanta, where I worked for eight long years as a clinical biochemist. When I turned thirty, I packed it all in, sold my car, broke my lease and moved to the land of my dreams, San Francisco. And this is where I plan on staying.
Now for the personal stuff: I'm a native New Yorker, transplanted to the South, who landed out West. I live with my incredible husband, Kenny, who I love more than anything in the world. On average, I write one short story a week, having been published in over 80 anthologies, and having contributed to more than fifty literary sites, worldwide. I've also been a regular erotica contributor to MEN and Freshmen magazines for over fiveyears. All these stories can be found in the Reviews, Interviews, Short Stories section of my site.
If there is anything else you'd like to know about me, feel free to click the email link below. Or, you can read my autobiography in the short story "A Jew In The South", which was featured in the Lammy nominated anthology Mentsh: On Being Jewish And Queer. Oh, and please sign my guestbook on the home page as well. I look forward to hearing from you.
Love to you all, Rob |
